(Saturday, October 2, 1971) — Former Beatle Paul McCartney and his brand new British-American rock band, Wings, returned today to EMI Studios (Abbey Road) in London for a fifth day of recording sessions for what would become the group’s debut album, Wild Life.

The band, which also included McCartney’s wife, Linda (who, just 19 days before, gave birth to the couple’s second biological child, Stella Nina McCartney, on Sept. 13, 1971), Denny Seiwell and Denny Laine, recorded “Bip Bop (Link),” a 52-second acoustic and instrumental rendition of “Bip Bop.”

“Bip Bop (Link)” would be mixed Oct. 17, 1971, for the Dec. 3, 1971, release of the original album.

Recording sessions for the Wild Life album would continue on Oct. 3, 1971.
