(Saturday, October 9, 1971) — Former Beatle Paul McCartney and his new British-American rock band, Wings, returned to EMI Studios (Abbey Road) in London today, recording three outtakes during sessions for what would become the group’s debut album, Wild Life.

The outtakes would not surface until the remastered Wild Life was released in 2018 as part of the Paul McCartney Archive Collection.

The band, which also included McCartney’s wife, Linda (who, just 26 days before, gave birth to the couple’s second biological child, Stella Nina McCartney, on Sept. 13, 1971), Denny Seiwell and Denny Laine, would resume and conclude sessions for the album on Oct. 16, 1971.
