(Sunday, February 27, 1972) — Former Beatle Ringo Starr and his wife, Maureen, attended a 40th birthday celebration for actress Elizabeth Taylor today at the Hotel Duna InterContinenta in Budapest, Hungary.

The two-day (Feb. 26-27, 1972) event in Taylor’s honor included some 160 guests, including several ambassadors and show business stars.

Miss Taylor, who was born on this day in 1932 in Hampstead, London, England, was in Hungary with her husband, actor Richard Burton, who has the title role in Bluebeard, a film being shot at Budapest Film Co. studios.
