(Monday, April 17, 1972) — It was on or about this date that ex-Beatle John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, spent some time in the New York apartment of their Bank Street neighbor John Cage, who was the subject of a documentary being directed by the German avant-garde writer and composer Hans G. Helms.

Their conversation was filmed for inclusion in the Nov. 13, 1972, WDR production Vogelkäfig 73’20.958″ für einen Komponisten.
