Video: '1972-05-09 - The Doors on The Old Grey Whistle Test (Complete Session)'
(Tuesday, May 9, 1972, 10:55 p.m. BST) — Ten months and six days after lead singer Jim Morrison was found dead in a bathtub in Paris, the surviving members of the American rock group The Doors — keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore — appeared on tonight‘s edition of the BBC2’s Old Grey Whistle Test, taped earlier today at BBC Studios in London, England.
Tonight’s performance was taped during what turned out to be the band’s final tour of Europe, which began Apr. 27, 1972, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and concluded on May 14, 1972, in Guildford, England.
