Geoff Emerick, 17, first worked with The Beatles today as a tape operated. He would assist with a number of sessions for the group’s recordings before moving into EMI’s disc-cutting team.

In April 1966, at the age of 20, Emerick was promoted to engineer on the first session for Revolver. The first song to be recorded was “Tomorrow Never Knows.”
