Video: 'Paul McCartney - Osterley Park [High Quality]
(Sunday, October 28, 1973, just after sunset at 4:41 p.m. GMT) — Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and his group Wings were photographed (and filmed) today against the gable end wall of the stable block at Osterley Park in west London by Clive Arrowsmith for the cover of the band’s forthcoming album Band On The Run.

The cover depicts McCartney, Linda and Laine plus six other well-known people dressed as convicts caught in the spotlight of a prison searchlight. They included actors James Coburn, and Christopher Lee, chef and MP Clement Freud, singer Kenny Lynch, Liverpudlian boxer John Conteh and chat show host Michael Parkinson.

Immediately after the cover shoot, the band arrived at EMI Studios in London at 8:00 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time for the final mixing session for the album, which included one last overdub: a new lead vocal for “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five.”

The mixing session was completed by 6:45 a.m. the following morning, Oct. 29, 1973.
