Video: 'Beatles w/ Ed Sullivan Interview 1964'
(Friday, April 17, 1964) — During a break in production for their first feature film, The Beatles gave an interview to American TV host Ed Sullivan today in the walled garden at the exclusive London private members’ club Les Ambassadeurs.
Lasting just one minute and 34 seconds, the brief discussion centered around the Beatles’ upcoming tours of Australia and America.
The chat, along with a clip of The Beatles miming to “You Can’t Do That,” was included in the May 24, 1964, edition of The Ed Sullivan Show.
The performance had been filmed in the Scala Theatre in London, but was later dropped from the final cut of A Hard Day’s Night.
