(Thursday, April 23, 1964, morning BST) — New York DJ Murray the K interviewed The Beatles this morning during the shooting of the “field scene” for A Hard Day’s Night in Isleworth (Murray calls it “Twickingham” [sic]).

Sometime in mid-April, Murray flew to London to visit with The Beatles, introduce their upcoming set at the NME Poll Winners’ Concert, and appear in their TV special Around the Beatles.

On this Day, Murray exchanges a few “what’s happening’s” with Ringo and describes the scene: “They’re doing various shots, the boys falling down on the ground and the whole bit. John’s going to a luncheon with muddy shoes.” (He’s referring to Foyle’s Literary Banquet.)
