(Tuesday, July 9, 1974, 6:00 p.m.-midnight CDT; during the Nashville sessions) — Paul McCartney and his post-Beatles band Wings recorded “Sally Gtoday at Soundshop Recording Studios in Nashville.

The song has a strong country influence and includes contributions from Nashville session musicians Lloyd Green (pedal steel and slide guitar) and Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys’ fiddle player, Johnny Gimble.

It would be released as the B-side to the single “Junior’s Farm” in October 1974.

In the U.S., “Sally G” would chart separately from “Junior’s Farm” on Billboard‘s country chart and Hot 100, peaking at number 51 and number 39 respectively (number 17 when still listed with “Junior’s Farm”).
