(Saturday, July 18, 1964) — A Hard Day’s Night, the soundtrack LP to The Beatles’ first film, debuted today at #12 on Billboard‘s 200 albums chart.

Released June 26 1964, was the group’s sixth appearance on the chart since Feb. 1, 1964.

The album also included four easy listening-styled instrumental versions of Lennon and McCartney songs arranged by George Martin conducting an orchestra of studio musicians.
