(Tuesday, July 28, 1964, 3:15 p.m. Central European Time) — The Beatles held a press conference today at Hotel Foresta in Stockholm, Sweden, to promote four upcoming shows at Johanneshovs Isstadion.

Following the press conference, John Lennon filmed a brief interview by Torsten Ljungstedt for Sveriges Radio TV discussing his book, In His Own Write.

He humorously introduces his bandmates as “George Parasol, Ringo Stone, and Paul MaCharmley” and goes on to state that his poetry is not influenced by James Thurber or James Joyce (“James Stewart,” Paul McCartney interjects).

John begins to read his poem “Good Dog Nigel” but is interrupted by George Harrison, who says there’s a better poem elsewhere in the book, and the two proceed to rip the book to shreds.
