Video: '26 de agosto de 1964 - Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Denver'
(Wednesday, August 26, 1964, 9:30 p.m. MDT; during The Beatles’ 1964 North American tour) — The Beatles performed tonight for 7,000 fans at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, located 10 miles west of Denver, during the sixth stop of their first full North American tour.
The band expressed their admiration for the unique outdoor venue.
Despite the challenges posed by the thin mountain air, which necessitated oxygen canisters on stage, their performance went off without a hitch (click here to watch an extended video of their Denver-area visit on Facebook).
While the show left 2,000 tickets unsold, marking the first such occurrence on their U.S. tour, it still set a box office record for the open-air stadium.
The event is noted as the earliest significant rock ‘n’ roll performance at the iconic venue.
