(Friday, September 11, 1964, 6:00 p.m. EDT; during The Beatles’ 1964 North American tour) — Fresh off two days of rest in Key West, The Beatles arrived in Jacksonville, Florida, today for the 17th stop of their first full North American tour.

The band held a press conference tonight at the George Washington Hotel shortly after their arrival.

Upon reaching the hotel, the group’s suite was not yet ready. While waiting, the band dined on turkey sandwiches and answered questions during the mandatory press conference.

Local reporter Jean Morris conducted interviews with all four members, capturing their thoughts and experiences on the tour so far.
