(Monday, October 7, 1974) — Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr stepped into the studio with close friend and fellow musician Harry Nilsson today to lend his drumming talents to the song “Kojak Columbo” for Nilsson’s album Duit On Mon Dei.

The recording session, held at RCA Studio in Los Angeles, was captured on home movie footage, offering a rare glimpse into their creative process.

This intimate footage, unseen by the public for decades, was later included in the 2010 documentary Who is Harry Nilsson? (And Why is Everybody Talking About Him), shedding light on the legendary collaboration between Starr and Nilsson.
