(Friday, November 20, 1964, early morning GMT) — John Lennon of The Beatles filmed part of a sequence today for a Nov. 29, 1964, appearance on the BBC2’s premiere episode of Dudley Moore’s sketch/variety series Not Only…But Also….

Filming took place on Wimbledon Common in London, and was complete by mid-morning.

Lennon appeared with Moore and co-star Norman Rossington, to accompany a reading of Deaf Ted, Danoota, (and me) from his book, In His Own Write.

A second appearance by Lennon would be made at BBC Television Centre on Nov. 29, 1964.

The show would be broadcast on Jan. 9, 1965, at 9:20 p.m. GMT. on BBC2.
