(Monday, January 20, 1975) — In their first session since arriving in New Orleans to continue recording their next studio album Venus and Mars, ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and his British-American group Wings recorded a pair of jam-like instrumentals—intended to be heard together as “Lunch Box/Odd Soxtoday at Sea-Saint Recording Studio.

The track would not be released until 1980, when it appeared as the B-side to McCartney’s 1980 single, “Coming Up.”

Over the next two days, Jan. 21-22, 1975, McCartney would become dissatisfied with the band’s drummer, Geoff Britton, and replace him (after only seven months) with Joe English, who joined the band in the studio on Jan. 23, 1975.
