Video: 'The Sound of Music' (trailer)

(Tuesday, March 2, 1965, 8:00 p.m. EST) — The Sound of Music, the movie version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Broadway musical about a who woman leaves an Austrian convent to become a governess to the children of a Naval officer widower, premiered today at New York’s Rivoli Theater.

Directed by Robert Wise, the film starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.
