(Friday, May 16, 1975, starting at 5:00 p.m. EDT) — Former Beatle John lennon traveled to Philadelphia night to appear on the WFIL Helping Hand Radio Marathon, an event to raise money for multiple sclerosis. Lennon talked on the phone and even did a short stint reading the weather.

He was invited to do the shows by the DJ Larry Kane, whom Lennon met during The Beatles first visit to the States in February of 1964. Lennon also briefly did the weather report for Kane’s broadcast on WPVI-TV.
