Video: 'The Great Race' trailer

(Thursday, July 1, 1965, 8:30 p.m. PDT) — The Great Race, a slapstick comedy film about a bumbling villain who plots to win an early 20th-century auto race, premiered tonight at Pantages Theatre 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles.

Directed by Blake Edwards, the film starred Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, Peter Falk, Keenan Wynn, Arthur O’Connell and Vivian Vance.
