(Saturday, August 14, 1965, 8:30 p.m. EDT) — The Beatles performed six songs tonight on tape for the Sep. 12, 1965, (and final black and white) edition of the CBS variety television series The Ed Sullivan Show at CBS Studio 50 in New York City.

It was the group’s fourth (two of them live, two of them pre-recorded) and what turned out to be final appearance on the show (1964-1965).
