(Thursday, September 2, 1965) — Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, and John Densmore joined Ray’s brothers Rick and Jim and Patty Sullivan today at World-Pacific Studios at 8715 W. 3rd St. in Los Angeles, to record a six-song demo for The Doors, the band’s first known recording.

Guitarist Robby Krieger had not yet joined the band by this session, but he would become a member later this month.

The surviving acetate includes the first songs Jim ever sang for Ray on Venice Beach in July 1965 — “Moonlight Drive,” “Summer’s Almost Gone,” and “My Eyes Have Seen You” — along with “End Of The Night,” “Hello, I Love You,” and a track called “Go Insane.”
