Video: 'President picks Roberts to replace chief justice Rehnquist'

Bush said today that he would nominate Judge John Roberts, who had been his choice to fill the Supreme Court seat being vacated by Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, to succeed William H. Rehnquist (who died Sept. 3, 2005) as chief justice of the United States.
