‘Letting Go’ by Wings peaks at #39 in USA 50 years ago today (Oct 25 1975)

(Saturday, October 25, 1975) — “Letting Go” by Wings (Paul McCartney’s band after The Beatles’ split) peaked at #39 on today’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for two weeks.

The song was recorded late in 1974 at Abbey Road Studios, before the band went to New Orleans to record the majority of Venus and Mars.

It was one of only three songs recorded for the album with short-term Wings drummer Geoff Britton before he left the band (the others being “Love in Song” and “Medicine Jar”).
