Former U.S. Vice President Henry A. Wallace dies 60 years ago this hour (Nov 18 1965)

(Thursday, November 18, 1965, 11:15 a.m. EST)Henry A. Wallace, the 33rd vice president of the United States, serving from 1941 to 1945 (during most of World War II), under President Franklin D. Roosevelt, died today in Danbury, Connecticut. He was 77.

Wallace served as the 11th U.S. secretary of agriculture and the 10th U.S. secretary of commerce.

He was the nominee of the new Progressive Party in the 1948 presidential election.
