(Friday, November 1, 1968) — The first solo album by a member of The Beatles, George Harrison’s Wonderwall Music, soundtrack to the film Wonderwall, was released today in the UK (Dec. 2, 1968, in the U.S.).

It was also the first album released by Apple Records, the band’s new record company.

The tracks, recorded in London and Bombay between November 1967 and February 1968, were all instrumental pieces, except for occasional non-English vocals, and mostly comprise short musical vignettes.

Harrison served as producer, writer and arranger and performed (uncredited) piano and guitar.
