The Beatles continue recording ‘A Day In The Life’ 50 years ago this hour #OnThisDay #OTD (Jan 20 1967)


(Friday, January 20, 1967, 7:00 p.m.-1:10 a.m. GMT) — The Beatles continued work on “A Day In The Life,” the finale of their Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album, today at EMI Studio 2 in London, recording a bass guitar part and drums (both were later re-recorded), a clavichord to the introduction and Paul McCartney’s lead vocals (which would be redone on Feb. 3, 1967; click here to listen to RM1 by selecting track one).
