(Saturday, August 10, 1974) — Former Beatle John Lennon flew from Los Angeles to Denver, Colorado, and drove 90 minutes to the Caribou Ranch recording studio today to provide guitar and backing vocals on Elton John’s cover of the Lennon-(Paul) McCartney classic “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds,” first heard on The Beatles’ album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967.
