Brokaw was succeeded by Brian Williams the following day.

(Saturday, September 11, 2004)Hotel Rwanda, a historical drama film about a hotel manager who housed over a thousand Tutsi refugees during their struggle against the Hutu militia in Rwanda, premiered today at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Directed by Terry George, the film starred Don Cheadle, Sophie Okonedo, Joaquin Phoenix and Nick Nolte.

Directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the film starred Chieko Baisho, Takuya Kimura and Akihiro Miwa.

72,000 spectators looked on as 1996 Olympic sailing champion Nikolaos Kaklamanakis lit a giant cigar-shaped tapered column resembling a torch (not the usual cauldron).
