(Saturday, June 28, 2003)Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, an adventure fantasy film about Blacksmith Will Turner who teams up with eccentric pirate “Captain” Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor’s daughter, from Jack’s former pirate allies, who are now undead, premiered today at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

Directed by Gore Verbinski, the film starred Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Jack Davenport and Jonathan Pryce.

Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film stars Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon, Laurence Fishburne, Marcia Gay Harden and Laura Linney.

(Friday, May 23, 2003) — Paul McCartney today opened a modern sound recording studio for musically gifted children in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Children from St. Petersburg boarding school No. 38 participated in the studio opening, which is located in the former stables of the Menshikov palace on Vasilyevsky Island. They sang songs by the former member of the legendary group Beatles.

The studio was opened with support from the charity fund The Menshikov Foundation.

According to the fund’s director Enti Ino, the fund was created to support musically gifted children, and the modern sound studio will become a stage for the exercises of these children.
