(Sunday, March 17, 1968) — The Rolling Stones began recording their seventh British (ninth American) studio album Beggars Banquet today at Olympic Sound Studios in London.

Sessions for the album would continue intermittently through July 25, 1968, at Olympic and Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, for release on Dec. 6, 1968.
