(Monday, June 27, 1966, 1:45 p.m. AKST) — Following their Summer 1966 Germany Mini-Tour, The Beatles flew from Hamburg (click here to watch their departure at 3:56) to London Airport today to catch a connect flight to Japan to begin their Summer 1966 Asia Mini-Tour, but a decidedly unscheduled typhoon rerouted them to Alaska, where they spend the night at the Westwood Hotel in Anchorage.

(Saturday, June 26, 1976)The Outlaw Josey Wales, a revisionist Western film about a peaceful farmer who turns vigilante when soldiers murder his family, was pre-screened today at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts and Humanities in Idaho during a six-day conference entitled Western Movies: Myths and Images.

Directed by Clint Eastwood, the film starred Eastwood, Chief Dan George and Sondra Locke.
