(Thursday, August 23, 1973) — A bank robbery-turned-hostage-taking, known as the Norrmalmstorg robbery, began today in Stockholm, Sweden. The four hostages ended up empathizing with their captors, a psychological condition now referred to as “Stockholm Syndrome.”
