(Friday, November 22, 1963, 2:04 p.m. CST) — The body of U.S. President John F. Kennedy was removed from Parkland Hospital today into a waiting hearse headed for Air Force One at Love Field in Dallas for transport back to Washington.

Although Texas law mandates an autopsy must be performed within the state, the Secret Service, Kennedy’s personnel and District Attorney Henry Wade overrule an objection of Medical Examiner Dr. Earl F. Rose.
