(Wednesday, January 20, 1997, 12:05:42 p.m. EST) — President Bill Clinton, 50, was inaugurated today for a second term of office on the West Front of of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., with Chief Justice William Rehnquist administering oath of office.

Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States Ruth Bader Ginsburg gave the oath to office for Vice President Al Gore.

Clinton and Gore, Democrats, had won re-election by defeating the Republican ticket of Bob Dole-Jack Kemp in the November 1996 general election.
