Video: 'Wonderwall Music (Remastered)' (22 videos)

(Thursday, November 23, 1967) — George Harrison continued recording Wonderwall Music, the soundtrack to the film Wonderwall and the first solo album by a member of The Beatles, today at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) in London for release on May 17, 1968 (the film) and Nov. 1, 1968 (the album).

The tracks were all instrumental pieces, except for occasional non-English vocals, and mostly comprise short musical vignettes.

Harrison served as producer, writer and arranger and performed (uncredited) piano and guitar.

On this day, Harrison carried out further work on some of the previous day’s first session for the LP (“Swordfencing,” “India,” “Backwards Tabla” and “Backwards Tones”) with two oboe players, a trumpeter and two flautists.

Recording would continue through Feb. 11, 1968.
