Video: 'Cal Jam II'

(Saturday, March 18, 1978, 9:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. PST) — California Jam II (also known as Cal Jam II), an all-day music festival held at the Ontario Motor Speedway in Ontario, California, opened this morning with a performance by Bob Welch.

More than 300,000 people attended the event. With some 225,000 tickets sold, Cal Jam II set a record for a single-day paid attendance at a rock concert.

Also on the bill were Aerosmith, Foreigner, Heart, Santana, Mahogany Rush, Dave Mason, Rubicon, Jean-Michel Jarre and Ted Nugent.
