(Wednesday, March 22, 1978, 9:30-11:00 p.m. EST) — The Beatles-spoof TV special All You Need Is Cash premiered on NBC-TV tonight (Easter Monday, Mar. 27, 1978, in the UK on BBC2).

Written and co-directed by Eric Idle, the film traces the history of a mythical pop group called The Rutles, portrayed by Neil Innes (as John Lennon), Idle (Paul McCartney), Rikki Fataar (George Harrison) and John Halsey (Ringo Starr).

Harrison, as a grey-haired television reporter, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Paul Simon and John Belushi made cameo appearances.

The collection of Beatle-esque songs, written by Innes, was released on a Warner Brothers soundtrack album.
