(Sunday, June 14, 1998, at approximately 8:00 p.m. MDT) — 35-year-old Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls hit a jump shot with 5.2 seconds left to give the Bulls an 87–86 victory in the sixth and deciding game of the 1998 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz tonight at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jordan did “retire” for the second time in Jan. 1999. He returned to the game in 2001, playing for the Washington Wizards.
