(Tuesday, June 18, 1968) — John Lennon of The Beatles attended the official premiere of the National Theatre’s stage version of In His Own Write tonight at Old Vic Theatre on London’s Waterloo Road, as part of a triple bill that also featured Henry Fielding’s The Covent Garden Tragedy and John Maddison Morton’s A Most Unwarrantable Intrusion from 1849.

In His Own Write, based on Lennon’s first book and the follow-up, A Spaniard In The Works, was directed by Victor Spinetti.
