(Thursday, July 25, 1968) — The Monkees recorded “Ditty Diego” (version 1), a parody of the theme song to their television show, today at RCA Studios in Hollywood for the soundtrack to their first and only feature film, Head.

The group would continue to tour and tape a television special as a foursome for another five months, but would not return together to a single recording studio until June 1996.
