(Thursday, July 25, 1968) — The Rolling Stones completed recording Beggars Banquet, the English rock band’s seventh British and ninth American studio album, today at Sunset Sound Recorders in Hollywood, having worked on five tracks since July 7, 1968, for release on Dec. 6, 1968.

In 2003, the album was ranked at number 58 on Rolling Stone‘s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
