(Monday, October 14, 1968, 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m. BST; during sessions for The Beatles, also known as “The White Album”) — The Beatles completed George Harrison’s “Savoy Truffle” at EMI Studio 2 today in London, adding electric piano, organ, lead guitar, tambourine and bongos.

It marked the final recording session for The Beatles, also known as “The White Album,” the band’s ninth studio album and only double studio album.

Mixing for The Beatles would continue through Oct. 17, 1968. The mono pressing would be cut on Oct. 18 and 19 and the stereo version was cut on Oct 21.

The album would be released in the UK on Nov. 22, 1968, and three days later in the United States.
