(Sunday, November 17, 1968, 7:00 p.m. EST) — In one of the biggest screw ups in the era of televised sports, NBC outraged football fans tonight by cutting away from the closing minutes of a New York Jets-Oakland Raiders game on the East Coast to begin the TV movie Heidi on schedule.

After being taken off the air, the Raiders scored two late touchdowns to beat the Jets, 43-32, as thousands of outraged football fans flooded the NBC switchboards to protest.
