(Monday, January 13, 1969, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. BST) — The Beatles, minus George Harrison, gathered this morning at Twickenham Film Studios in London for the eighth day of rehearsals for the Get Back/Let It Be sessions, intended to form the basis for both a television documentary and a new album.

The Beatles had met at Ringo Starr’s house the day before (Sunday, Jan. 12, 1969) in an attempt to resolve the issues that had led to Harrison walking out of the sessions on Friday, Jan. 10, 1969.

The meeting was not a success, but in the absence of any other ideas, the three remaining Beatles regrouped at Twickenham Film Studios to continue work on the project.

Unsurprisingly, Harrison didn’t show up, and John Lennon too was absent for much of the day. The bulk of the recordings made, therefore, featured conversations rather than music.
