(Tuesday, January 21, 1969, morning-7:30 p.m. BST) — Following a week’s break, The Beatles resumed work the Get Back/Let It Be sessions today with the film crew present.

This was the first formal day of work following George Harrison’s temporary departure from the group, and saw them relocate from Twickenham Film Studios to the group’s own Apple Studios, in the basement of their headquarters in Savile Row, London.

The only song from this day to have been officially released was an early version of “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window,” which appeared on 1996’s Anthology 3 (the date was incorrectly listed as Jan. 22, 1969, in the album booklet), featuring Lennon on Fender Rhodes electric piano.

On his way to the studio from his new home in Elstead, Ringo Starr was interviewed today by Daily Express reporter David Wigg for broadcast on Jan. 25, 1969, on BBC Radio 1’s Scene and Heard.

John Lennon was also filmed today introducing The Rolling Stones for the band’s Rock and Roll Circus film, which included Lennon performing “Yer Blues” with a one-shot supergroup called The Dirty Mac, featuring Eric Clapton, Mitch Mitchell, and Keith Richards. Filmed Dec. 11-12, 1968, in London, the performances would not be officially released until 1996.
