(Saturday, January 25, 1969; 5:40 a.m. PST) — 70 hours of nonstop snow began falling this morning in Eugene, Oregon, shattering every record in the book.

37.9 inches of snow would fall in three days and almost four feet (47.1 inches) would fall that January. That’s more snow than fell in Lane County during the entire 1980s (43.2 inches) and the entire 1990s (31.1 inches).
