(Sunday, April 27, 1969, 3:00-6:00 p.m. BST) — John Lennon of The Beatles and his wife, avant-garde artist Yoko Ono, completed recording Wedding Album today at EMI Studio 3 in London as they re-recorded the heartbeats for “John & Yoko.”

The couple’s third and final in a succession of three experimental albums would be released Oct. 20, 1969, following Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins (released Nov. 29, 1968) and Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions (released May 9, 1969).
