The Beatles complete ‘You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)’ 50 years ago this hour #OnThisDay #OTD (Apr 30 1969)

(Wednesday, April 30, 1969, 7:15 p.m.-2:00 a.m. BST; during sessions for Abbey Road) — The Beatles tonight completed recording John Lennon’s “You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)” at EMI Studio 3 in London, as Lennon and Paul McCartney gathered around a single microphone and added all the song’s vocals onto two tracks.

The song would not be released until Mar. 20, 1970, as the B-side to “Let It Be.”

The session began with a lead guitar overdub onto the best take of “Let It Be” from the Jan. 31, 1969, session. It was included in two unreleased versions of the Get Back albums.
