(Tuesday, May 27, 1969, noon EDT; during the Vietnam War) — John Lennon of The Beatles and his wife, Yoko Ono, and her daughter, Kyoko, welcomed reporters, photographers and motion picture camera crews today to Suite 1742 at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal as they began their second bed-in for peace.

This second bed-in had been originally planned to take place in New York, but Lennon was not allowed into the U.S. because of his 1968 cannabis conviction.
